Care

Put it on after perfume and hand cream, never before. Wipe the pearl with a soft damp cloth only, and keep it away from polish.

Mother of pearl is the lining an oyster builds against its own shell, laid down in sheets so thin that light bends as it passes through them. That is where the shifting pinks and greens come from: not pigment, but structure. Cut into a heart and set in bright silver, it changes colour as you move.
